Enter the room with a microphone

How do I enter a room with a microphone and leave it again?

• Click the red “Join” button on the right side of the screen.
• A dialog box will appear asking you to select how you would like to join the room.
• Since you want to join using your microphone, click the microphone icon labeled “With Microphone.”
• After making your selection, a dialog box will appear in your browser asking if your microphone may be used.
• Here, you can choose which microphone to use, and you can also check the “Remember this decision” box if you don’t want to see this window again in the future.
• To confirm, click “Allow.”
• You will then be connected to the echo test. Here, you can say a few words to check if and how well you can hear yourself.
• Don’t worry: This test is only audible to you; other participants won’t hear a thing!
• If you can hear yourself clearly, click the green thumbs-up icon to enter the room.
• If you cannot hear yourself clearly, click the red thumbs-down icon.
• This will open the “Change Audio Settings” window, where you can configure your microphone and output device.
• Once everything is working, you can enter the room.
• At the bottom of the screen, there are several circles with icons. Icons filled in blue indicate an active function, while icons with a white border indicate an inactive function.
• Clicking the blue microphone icon mutes your microphone. The icon then changes to the inactive version with a white border.
• Clicking the blue headphone icon mutes the audio conference, and you will no longer be able to hear the other participants. The icon will then change to the inactive version with a white border.
• If you want to rejoin the audio conference, click the white headphone icon.
• A dialog box will then reappear, prompting you to select how you would like to enter the room.
